Thomas F. Whalen, 58, passed away on July 19, 2006 at a local hospital. Tom was born on November 30, 1947 in Detroit, MI to Floyd and Mary (Hughes) Whalen. Tom married Alice Nielsen on August 20, 1994 in her hometown of Lena, IL. He was an insurance agent for Six and Geving prior to his passing. Tom loved to golf, play tennis and softball, and was a member of Sunrise United Methodist Church. An avid musician, Tom was an accomplished guitarist, composer and vocalist. He was a member of two folk groups: Red and The Boys and The Old Crusty Minstrels. Tom leaves behind three wonderful children: Michael Whalen, April Breeden and Nichelle Whalen. His parents preceded him in death. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on July 24, 2006 at the Sunrise United Methodist Church, 2655 Briargate Blvd. Colorado Springs, CO 80920.
